Glikazid 60 MR Tablet (Gliclazide Modified Release) is an oral antidiabetic medication from the sulfonylurea class, used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight reduction alone do not adequately control blood glucose levels.
The blood glucose-lowering effect of Glikazid 60 MR Tablet may be increased by:
- Insulin and other antidiabetic medicines
- Certain antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, sulfonamides)
- ACE inhibitors
- Antifungal medications (e.g., miconazole, fluconazole)
- NSAIDs such as ibuprofen
- Alcohol
Glikazid 60 MR Tablet effectiveness may be reduced by:
- Corticosteroids
- Chlorpromazine
- Danazol
- Beta-agonists such as salbutamol, ritodrine, and terbutaline
- St. John’s Wort preparations
Glikazid 60 MR Tablet may also enhance the anticoagulant effects of warfarin.
