- Fona Plus Gel 10gm (Adapalene 0.1% + Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%) is a dermatological preparation used to treat acne and exfoliate the upper dead layer of skin. Acne occurs when dead skin cells and oil block hair follicles, and acne-causing bacteria feed on sebum, leading to redness and swelling. Fona Plus Gel contains two drugs: Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide. Adapalene is a retinoid that loosens cells on the skin surface, reduces oil production, and unblocks pores to decrease pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. Benzoyl peroxide is a keratolytic agent that breaks down keratin, removes dead skin cells, softens skin, and has antibacterial properties that kill acne-causing bacteria.
- Use Fona Plus Gel as directed by your doctor, only for external use. Avoid contact with the nose, ears, mouth, or eyes, and rinse thoroughly with warm water if accidental contact occurs. Your doctor will advise on how often to use Fona Plus Gel 10gm based on your medical condition. Side effects such as dry skin, scaling, rash, irritation, redness, or burning sensation may occur, which usually resolve over time. If side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
- Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Fona Plus Gel or any other medicines, and do not apply it on cuts, wounds, sunburned, windburned, chapped, dry, or irritated skin. Avoid tanning beds and sunlight while using Fona Plus Gel, as it may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight and cause sunburn. Use protective clothing and sunscreen when going out to avoid sunburn. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before using Fona Plus Gel. Do not use it in large amounts or for longer than prescribed, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
