Bilargo is used to relieve symptoms of:
- Allergic rhino-conjunctivitis (seasonal and year-round)
- Urticaria (hives)
It also helps reduce hay fever symptoms like sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy eyes, and watery eyes.
- Not recommended in children under 2 years due to lack of data.
- Limited clinical experience in children aged 2–5 years.
Bilargo contains Bilastine, a second-generation, non-sedating, long-acting antihistamine.
Selectively blocks H1 histamine receptors (with much higher affinity than cetirizine or fexofenadine).
Does not affect 30 other receptor types, including muscarinic, dopaminergic, or serotonergic receptors.
It does not require metabolism to be effective.
Excretion: ~66% via feces and ~28% via urine.
