Prosma contains Ketotifen, which has anti-allergic and antihistamine properties. It functions similarly to sodium cromoglycate for the prevention of asthma and exhibits strong anti-anaphylactic effects. Ketotifen stabilizes mast cells and inhibits histamine reactions, effectively reducing the frequency, severity, and duration of asthma attacks over time. Clinical trials have shown that long-term use can allow for a reduction in corticosteroids or bronchodilators. However, Ketotifen does not stop ongoing asthma attacks, and its full prophylactic effect may take several weeks to develop.
