Tranexamic Acid 500mg is used to manage bleeding in conditions such as, Â
- Heavy menstrual bleeding in women
- bleeding from the nose
- bleeding inside the digestive system (gastrointestinal system, Ex, inflammatory bowel disease)
- blood in urine (not caused by the kidney (renal parenchyma))
- bleeding after undergoing surgery (such as dental extraction in patients with coagulation disorders, cervical surgery)
Bionex contains Tranexamic Acid, a potent antifibrinolytic agent that inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin — thereby preventing the breakdown of fibrin clots. It is around 10 times more active than conventional hemostatics.
It is rapidly absorbed orally, with effects visible within 15–30 minutes. The drug is mainly excreted by the kidneys and has a prolonged duration of action, allowing lower doses at longer intervals.
At therapeutic doses, Tranexamic Acid does not affect normal coagulation or cause thrombosis even with prolonged use.
