- Has weak estrogenic and androgenic properties.
- Absorbed orally, the effect lasts ≥24 hours.
- Metabolized and excreted via urine.
Stop treatment immediately if:
- New/severe migraine or frequent headaches
- Vision/hearing disturbances
- Thrombophlebitis or chest pain suggestive of embolism
- Before major surgery (6 weeks prior) or during immobilization
- Jaundice, hepatitis, severe pruritus, or significant hypertension
- Pregnancy occurs
