Description

Ibrutix 140mg Capsule treats blood and lymph node cancers and post-bone marrow transplant complications.

Ibrutinib is a prescription medication used to treat the following conditions:

  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/Small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) in adults.
  • Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/Small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) with 17p deletion in adults.
  • Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) in adults.
  • Chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD) in adults and children aged 1 year and older after failure of one or more lines of systemic therapy.

Note that the safety and effectiveness of Ibrutinib in children under 1 year of age are not known.

Before taking Ibrutinib, inform your healthcare provider about your medical history, including if you:

  • Recently had surgery or plan to undergo surgery, as Ibrutinib may need to be stopped before certain medical, surgical, or dental procedures.
  • Have a history of bleeding problems.
  • Have or had heart rhythm problems, smoked, or had conditions that increase your risk of heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes?
  • Have an ongoing infection.
  • Have liver issues.
  • Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant? Ibrutinib can harm an unborn baby. Pregnancy tests may be conducted before starting treatment. Effective birth control should be used during treatment and for a month after the last dose for females who can become pregnant, and for males with female partners who can become pregnant.
  • Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed? Breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment and for a week after the last dose.

Additionally, inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Taking Ibrutinib with certain other medications can impact its effectiveness and cause side effects.
