Description

Barbit 60mg Tablet (Phenobarbital) is an anticonvulsant that is used to control seizures and is also used for anxiety.

Barbit 60mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Phenobarbital, which is classified as barbiturate. It is primarily used in the treatment of epilepsy to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures. However, it is not effective for treating absence seizures in children.

Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. Seizures can manifest as involuntary movements involving specific body parts or the entire body, accompanied by loss of consciousness and potential loss of bladder or bowel control.

It is important to avoid alcohol consumption while taking Barbit 60mg Tablet as it can interfere with the effectiveness of the medication. This medicine is not recommended for individuals with porphyria, Addison’s disease, breathing problems, or kidney and liver disorders.

The use of Barbit 60mg tablet during pregnancy should be approached with caution and only if specifically advised by a doctor. It is not recommended for breastfeeding women as the medication can pass into breast milk. It is advisable to consult a doctor before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding.

Barbit 60mg Tablet should be used cautiously in children and elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). It is important to be aware of serious side effects, such as thoughts of self-harm or suicide, and seek immediate medical attention if such symptoms occur. Drowsiness is a common side effect of this medication, and if it worsens, it is recommended to consult a physician.
