Levetiracetam 500 Tablet
Monotherapy:
- For newly diagnosed epilepsy in adults and adolescents (≥16 years) with partial-onset seizures (with or without secondary generalization).
Adjunct Therapy:
- Partial-onset seizures in adults, adolescents, children, and infants (from 1 month of age).
- Myoclonic seizures in patients ≥12 years with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy.
- Primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients ≥12 years with Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy.
Though not fully understood, Levefix is thought to inhibit hypersynchronous burst firing and seizure propagation without affecting normal neuronal excitability. This selective inhibition may explain its antiepileptic effect.
Infants (1 month–6 months):
Oral solution only
Tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid, taken twice daily, with or without food.
