Uses:
- Bipolar Disorder: Manages mania characterized by excessive excitement, enthusiasm, over-activity, and irritability.
- Seizures: Effective in controlling complex partial seizures in adults and children aged 10 years and older, as well as simple and complex absence seizures.
- Migraine: Used to manage migraine headaches, typically characterized by moderate to severe headaches often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound.
Valex CR 300mg Tablet works by stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, reducing the excessive discharge of specific nerve cells that cause seizures and mood fluctuations.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures, porphyria, liver, kidney, or pancreatic problems, diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus, or genetic diseases.
- Patients should be monitored for signs of suicidal thoughts and behavior. Seek medical advice if any such signs occur.
- Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication, as it can exacerbate side effects.
- Valex CR 300mg Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the increased risk of liver toxicity.
- Not recommended for children under 2 years of age due to the higher risk of liver toxicity. Follow your doctor’s prescription. It is typically taken once or twice daily.
- It is best to take the tablet with or after meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
