Voriconazole | Azole Antifungal
Available as: Tablets, Oral Suspension, and Injection
For patients ≥12 years
Voriconazole is a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. It acts through inhibition of CYP450-dependent 14-alpha sterol demethylase, resulting in cell membrane dysfunction and fungal death.
Voriderm is indicated in the treatment of serious and potentially life-threatening fungal infections, including:
- Invasive aspergillosis
- Candidemia in non-neutropenic patients and deep-seated candidiasis involving organs like skin, abdomen, kidney, bladder wall, or surgical wounds
- Esophageal candidiasis
- Severe infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum and Fusarium species (including Fusarium solani)
- Infections in patients refractory to or intolerant of alternative antifungal therapies
