Description

Generic Name: Rabeprazole Sodium 20mg Company Name: Opsonin Pharma Limited

Indication

Finix is a medication that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat stomach and intestine acid-related diseases such as heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and some other stomach conditions associated with excessive acid production. Finix is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity caused by long-term painkiller use. It is a proton pump inhibitor, which is a type of medication (PPI). Take this medication one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose will be determined by your underlying condition as well as how you respond to the medication. Try to take it at the same time every day, as directed by your doctor.

Pharmacology

By blocking the gastric H+/K+-ATPase at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell, Finix 10 reduces gastric acid secretion. Rabeprazole has been referred to as a gastric proton-pump inhibitor since this enzyme is thought to be the acid (proton) pump within the parietal cell.

With active benign stomach ulcers, the majority of patients recover within six weeks. But once more, some patients might need an extra six weeks of therapy to recover.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Finix 20 isn’t usually recommended during pregnancy as there’s no firm evidence it’s safe. if you’re pregnant, it’s better to try to treat symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn without taking medicine.

The SPC advises avoiding the use of rabeprazole during lactation. levels for both drugs are low, and in addition, a large proportion of any of the drugs ingested by the infant is likely to be destroyed by the acid in the stomach.

Symptomatic response to therapy with Rabeprazole does not preclude the presence of gastric or oesophageal malignancy, therefore the possibility of malignancy should be excluded prior to commencing treatment with Rabeprazole 20 mg Gastro-resistant capsule.
