Description

Esomeprazole, the active component of iMAX, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by selectively blocking the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, thus reducing stomach acid production. As the S-isomer of omeprazole, esomeprazole offers more effective acid suppression than its racemic counterpart.
