Lopirel contains Clopidogrel, a prodrug that undergoes metabolic activation to inhibit platelet aggregation. It achieves this by irreversibly binding to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, preventing adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet activation.
