Rosuvastatin 10 mg Tablet is commonly prescribed for:
- High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)
- Mixed dyslipidemia
- Familial hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous and homozygous forms)
- Elevated triglyceride levels
- Prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients
- Stroke prevention
Rostab 10 is a statin medication used to lower elevated cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. It helps prevent the buildup of fatty deposits in blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing the likelihood of serious heart-related complications.
- Take Rostab 10 exactly as prescribed by your physician.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or break it.
- It may be taken with or without food.
- Taking it at the same time each day is recommended for best results.
Adult Dosage
- Starting dose: 5 mg or 10 mg once daily
- Dose may be increased every 4 weeks if necessary
- Maximum dose: 40 mg once daily
Pediatric Dosage (Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia)
- Children over 10 years: Start with 5 mg once daily
- Maximum dose: 20 mg daily
Renal Impairment
- Severe renal dysfunction (CrCl <30 mL/min/1.73m², not on dialysis): Start with 5 mg daily; do not exceed 10 mg daily
- Mild to moderate renal impairment: No dose adjustment generally required
Missed Dose
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within 12 hours.
