Winolip EZ Tablet is a combination medication prescribed for the treatment of high cholesterol levels. It consists of two active ingredients – Bempedoic Acid (180mg) and Ezetimibe (10mg). Here’s an overview:
- Used in adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
- Given as an adjunct to diet and maximally tolerated statin therapy for additional lowering of LDL-C.
Bempedoic Acid (180mg):
- Inhibits ATP citrate lyase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis in the liver.
- Reduces cholesterol production in the liver, leading to decreased LDL cholesterol levels.
Ezetimibe (10mg):
- Blocks cholesterol absorption from the small intestine.
