Dienogest acts as a progesterone receptor agonist with moderate receptor affinity but a strong progestational effect on endometrial tissue. Prolonged administration leads to endometrial atrophy.
Its therapeutic effects include:

- Immunomodulatory and anti-angiogenic effects
- Reduction of endogenous estradiol production
Continuous use creates a hyperprogestogenic and moderately hypoestrogenic environment, resulting in decidualization and suppression of both eutopic and ectopic endometrium. Dienogest also exhibits anti-androgenic activity, which may improve androgen-related symptoms such as acne and hirsutism.
Endosis is indicated for the treatment of endometriosis. It belongs to the class of medicines known as progestins, which counteract the effects of estrogen on estrogen-sensitive tissues such as the endometrium. By suppressing estrogen-induced growth of endometrial tissue, Endosis helps reduce inflammation and relieve pelvic pain associated with endometriosis.
