- Hypertension is not controlled by monotherapy.
- Angina pectoris and hypertension co-existing diseases.
- Post myocardial infarction (MI) patients.
- Refractory angina pectoris where nitrate therapy has failed.
- Oral treatment for chronic stable angina and hypertension.
- Additive effect with catecholamine-depleting drugs. Monitor for hypotension and bradycardia.
- Excessive BP fall is possible in the elderly. Caution in various conditions.
- Atenolol is cardioselective, and Amlodipine is a calcium-channel blocker, resulting in additive antihypertensive action.
- Avoid untreated phaeochromocytoma.
- Caution in essential hypertension, angina, post-MI, and refractory angina patients.
- Common side effects include headache, hypotension, dizziness, fatigue, muscle cramps, bradycardia, palpitations, flushing, edema, dyspnea, and dyspepsia.
- Possible interactions with various conditions and drugs.
- Avoid conditions like hypotension, bradycardia, heart block, cardiogenic shock, congestive failure, and hypersensitivity.
