Angilock Plus tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It also helps reduce the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (enlarged heart muscle).
Losartan, an Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), blocks the actions of Angiotensin II, a substance that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By blocking Angiotensin II from binding to its receptor (AT1), Losartan helps relax blood vessels, lowering blood pressure. It also reduces aldosterone secretion, which decreases sodium and water retention.
Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, works by increasing urine output, reducing the volume of fluid in the blood vessels, and lowering blood pressure. It also causes the loss of sodium, chloride, and potassium through urine.
Angilock Plus 50/12.5 is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure. - Angilock Plus 50/12.5 should not be used during pregnancy or if you plan to get pregnant. Discontinue use and consult your doctor if you become pregnant while taking it.
- Do not use Angilock Plus 50/12.5 if you are unable to urinate.
- Do not take Angilock Plus 50/12.5 with medications containing aliskiren, as it can interact unfavorably.
