Hypertension is a chronic condition characterized by persistently high blood pressure. It can lead to the hardening of arteries (atherosclerosis), which restricts blood and oxygen flow to vital organs like the heart and brain. This increased pressure on blood vessels can cause:
- Angina (chest pain): Resulting from decreased oxygen flow to the heart.
- Heart attack: This occurs when blood flow to a part of the heart is blocked.
- Stroke: Caused by interrupted blood flow to the brain.
- Kidney failure: Due to the damage to blood vessels in the kidneys.
Blood pressure is measured using a sphygmomanometer. Normal blood pressure ranges between 90/60 mm Hg and 120/80 mm Hg. Consistently high readings indicate hypertension, which requires management through lifestyle changes and possibly medication to prevent severe health complications.
The combination of Bisoprolol and Amlodipine is indicated for the treatment of hypertension as substitution therapy in patients already controlled with these individual medications taken concurrently at the same dose level as the combination but in separate tablets. Use as prescribed by a registered physician.
Prelizer-AM is a combination of Amlodipine and Bisoprolol used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by relaxing the heart muscles and blood vessels, which improves blood flow, thus reducing the risk of serious complications like strokes and heart attacks.

- Prelizer-AM can be taken with or without food, as directed by your doctor.
- Take it at the same time every day to maintain consistent levels in your blood.
- Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.
- Avoid if you are allergic to Amlodipine, Bisoprolol, or any of the other ingredients.
- Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart conditions, particularly if you have slow heartbeats, abnormal heart rhythms, or issues with blood pumping.
- Let your doctor know if you are taking other medications to avoid interactions.
- Consult your doctor before taking Prelizer-AM if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
