Betavate N Ointment (Betamethasone 0.1% + Neomycin Sulphate 0.5%) is a multi-drug treatment for several forms of skin infections. It reduces inflammatory symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching. It also has antibacterial properties against the germs that cause illness.
Betavate N Ointment is a combination of Betamethasone and Neomycin that falls under Corticosteroids and Antibiotics, respectively. It is used to alleviate symptoms such as redness and itching caused by skin conditions that may be prone to infection, including eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or insect bites.
To apply, spread a thin layer of the cream on the affected area while avoiding contact with eyes, mouth, ears, nose, open wounds, and genitals. Use it on the face only if a doctor recommends it, and refrain from covering the area with bandages, dressings, or clothing. It is not advisable to use nappies on children after application.
Avoid being close to smoke or flames to avoid getting burned. Before using Betavate N Ointment, inform your doctor if you have any other skin conditions or infections, such as severe viral or fungal skin infections, acne, rosacea, or red rashes around the mouth or itching around the genitals or anus.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, seek your doctor’s advice before using Betavate N Ointment. The cream is not safe for children below two years of age. Common side effects may include burning, irritation, itching, skin thinning, changes in skin color, increased hair growth, and stretch marks. If you experience any of these side effects, consult your doctor.
