Vitamin B1, B6, and B12 are indicated for conditions caused by a deficiency in these essential vitamins. They are used to treat the following conditions: polyneuropathy of various origins, including diabetic, alcoholic, or toxic neuropathies; neuritis; neuralgia; cervical syndrome; shoulder-arm syndrome; lumbago; sciatica; myalgia; intercostal neuralgia; herpes zoster; trigeminal neuralgia; and as supportive therapy in facial paresis.
- Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): Converts carbohydrates, fatty acids, and amino acids into energy, supports healthy nerve function, enhances mood, and strengthens the heart.
- Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): Assists in red blood cell (RBC) production, protein synthesis, neurotransmitter creation (e.g., serotonin), and energy release. It helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and stroke, lifts mood, reduces depression, and alleviates insomnia.
- Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin): Essential for cell replication and RBC production, it prevents anemia, lowers nerve pain, numbness, and tingling sensations, and reduces the risk of heart diseases.
The vitamins are well-absorbed orally, distributed to tissues throughout the body, and appear in breast milk. Thiamine primarily exists as diphosphate within cells and is excreted in urine when present in excess. Pyridoxine and its active forms (pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxamine phosphate) are stored in the liver and metabolized to inactive forms excreted via urine. Higher doses lead to proportionally increased urinary excretion of unchanged vitamins.
