Ketoprofen, the active ingredient in Profenid-E, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and fever-reducing effects. It works by:

  • Inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
  • Stabilizing lysosomal membranes (both in vitro and in vivo).
  • Reducing leukotriene synthesis at high concentrations.
  • Demonstrating anti-bradykinin activity (in vivo).
    Ketoprofen’s analgesic properties arise from its ability to inhibit prostaglandin production both centrally and peripherally. Its antipyretic effect may be due to suppressing prostaglandin synthesis in the CNS, particularly in the hypothalamus.

Profenid-E is recommended for managing conditions due to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. It is used for:
