Class: Anticholinergic / Antiparkinsonian agent.
Mechanism: Selectively blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the CNS.
Improves balance between dopamine and acetylcholine in the basal ganglia → reduces tremors, rigidity, muscle stiffness, and abnormal movements.
Also has spasmolytic, antisialagogue, weak mydriatic, and cardiovagal blocking actions.
