Description

TTvax vaccine is used to prevent tetanus in individuals 7 years of age or older, including those at high risk of exposure such as gardeners, athletes, and farm workers. It is also recommended for women of childbearing age to prevent neonatal tetanus. Additionally, it can be administered following injury to prevent tetanus infection.

HIV Infection: TTvax can be administered to children with HIV, both symptomatic and asymptomatic, without increased risk of adverse reactions.

Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Adsorbed is indicated for the active immunization of adults, children, and infants against tetanus, a serious bacterial infection caused by Clostridium tetani. The vaccine is essential in preventing:Neonatal tetanus by immunizing women of childbearing age.Tetanus following an injury, particularly if the wound is contaminated or prone to infection. Mechanism of Action: Tetanus toxoid works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies that neutralize the toxins produced by Clostridium tetani. These antibodies provide protection against the tetanus bacteria and help prevent the disease. Common Side Effects: Tetanus toxoid vaccine is generally well-tolerated, but some may experience:Injection site reactions: Redness, swelling, tenderness, or thickening of the skin.Fever or irritability. Discomfort or malaise.Most side effects are mild and resolve on their own. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, it’s important to seek medical advice. Precautions:Inform your doctor if you’ve had a severe reaction to a previous dose of tetanus vaccine.
