Daflon is indicated for the treatment of:
- Acute episodes of hemorrhoids
- Chronic hemorrhoidal conditions
Chronic venous insufficiency (both organic and functional) of the lower limbs, associated with symptoms such as leg heaviness, pain, and nighttime cramps
Daflon contains Diosmin and Hesperidin, which belong to the phlebotonic and vascular-protective class of drugs. These compounds enhance venous tone by prolonging the action of noradrenaline on the venous wall, thereby reducing venous capacitance, elasticity, and emptying time.
They also help maintain the integrity of the microcirculation by minimizing inflammation through inhibition of leukocyte activation and the subsequent release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and free radicals. This action improves capillary resistance and normalizes permeability.
Additionally, Daflon enhances lymphatic function by increasing lymphatic flow and oncotic pressure, improving lymph drainage.
