Onaseron, a serotonin subtype 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist, is indicated for:
- Preventing nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of emetogenic cancer chemotherapy.
- Preventing and treating post-operative nausea and vomiting.
- Preventing radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
Onaseron ODT Tablet contains Ondansetron, which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-Nausea. It is used to manage nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Onaseron ODT Tablet is also used after surgeries (operations) to manage nausea and vomiting.
Before taking the Onaseron ODT Tablet, inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, heart or liver problems, imbalance with the levels of salts in the blood, such as potassium, sodium, and magnesium, or have been scheduled for any surgery.
Onaseron ODT Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy. This medicine may pass through the breast milk hence it is not recommended during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
The dose of Onaseron ODT Tablet will depend on your child’s age, body weight, and disease condition. Dosage adjustment is not required in elderly patients, hence consult your doctor before taking Onaseron ODT Tablet.
