- Recur 1 is used to treat hair loss in men. It is used to increase hair growth and prevent further hair loss with male pattern baldness (gradual thinning of hair with a receding hairline or thinning on the top of the head).
- In adult males, Recur 1 is used to treat an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH). It can be used alone or in conjunction with other drugs to alleviate BPH symptoms and may lessen the need for surgery.
- Recur 1 should not be used by women or children.
- Finasteride is indicated for the treatment of male pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in men only. Finasteride may alleviate BPH symptoms and give advantages such as lower urinal desire, improved urine flow with less straining, less of a sense that the bladder is not entirely empty, and less midnight urination.
- Recur 1 works by lowering the quantity of a natural body hormone (DHT) that promotes prostate development.
- Finasteride is not authorized for prostate cancer prevention. It may slightly raise the chance of acquiring a very dangerous form of prostate cancer. Consult your doctor about the advantages as well as dangers.
