Zee-2 Syrup

Indications

Zee-2 Syrup is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions, and symptoms:

• Diarrhea

Pharmacology

Zee-2 Syrup contains Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate as an active ingredient.

Zee-2 Syrup works by reducing the severity of diarrhea in children and also reduces its recurrence.

Dosage & Administration

Adult Dose

Syrup: 

• Adults: 20 ml (4 teaspoonfuls) 1-3 times daily.

Child Dose

Syrup: 

• Child under 10 kg: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) divided 2 times daily.
• Child between 10 – 30 kg: 10 ml (2 teaspoonfuls) divided 1-3 times daily.
• Child over 30 kg: 20 ml (4 teaspoonfuls) divided 1-3 times daily.

Interaction

If you use other drugs or over-the-counter products at the same time, the effects of Zee-2 Syrup may change. This may increase your risk for side effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that your doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Zee-2 Syrup may interact with the following drugs and products:

• Heparin
• Ichthammol
• Iron salts
• Norfloxacin
• Penicillamine
• Sodium calcium edetate
• Tetracycline

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Zee-2 Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Zee-2 Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:

Severe renal impairment

Side Effects

The following is a list of possible side effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Zee-2 Syrup. This is not a comprehensive list. These side effects are possible but do not always occur. Some of the side effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side effects, especially if they do not go away.

• Nausea
• Stomach upset
• Heartburn
• Fever
• Chills
• Sore throat
• Sores in mouth
• Unusual tiredness
• Weakness

Pregnancy & Lactation

Amlodipine with Olmesartan Medoxomil should not be used in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy since it can cause fetal mortality. This combination should be stopped as soon as possible if pregnancy is detected. Olmesartan and Amlodipine are not known to be excreted in human milk. Because of the risk of harm to the nursing infant, a decision should be taken on whether to stop breastfeeding or stop taking the medicine, taking into account the drug’s importance to the mother.

Precautions & Warnings

Accumulation of Zinc may occur in case of renal failure. Food may decrease the absorption of Zinc. Hence the patients are advised to take the prepare at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.

Do not store at temperatures above 30°C. Keep out of the reach of youngsters and away from light.
