A-Migel 2% Oral gel is indicated for the following purposes:
- Treatment of Oral and Gastrointestinal Candidiasis: Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by Candida species, particularly Candida albicans. This gel is effective in treating candidiasis affecting the mouth (oral candidiasis) and the gastrointestinal tract.
- Eradication of Fungal Colonization: A-Migel oral gel helps eliminate fungal colonization in both the mouth and the gastrointestinal tract. Fungal colonization refers to the presence and growth of fungi without causing infection. This gel helps in clearing such colonization, and preventing potential infections.
- Treatment of Superinfections due to Gram-positive Bacteria: Superinfections occur when a new infection develops on top of an existing one. A-Migel oral gel is effective in treating superinfections caused by gram-positive bacteria. Gram-positive bacteria include species like Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, which can cause various infections, including those of the mouth and gastrointestinal tract.
