Alsone Syrup

Indication

Alsone Syrup Sugar-Free is a medicine used in the treatment of gout and kidney stones. It stops the production of uric acid in the body and reduces the episodes of gout attack and prevents kidney stones. The list of uses of this medicine is as follows:

• asthma
• atopic dermatitis
• contact dermatitis
• drug hypersensitivity reactions
• perennial or seasonal allergic rhinitis
• serum sickness

Composition:
Each 5ml Contains:

• Disodium hydrogen citrate IP: 1.4gm
• Flavored syrup base: q.s

Pharmacology

Disodium Hydrogen Citrate is a urine alkalizer. It works by increasing the pH of urine which makes it less acidic. This helps the kidneys get rid of excess uric acid, thereby preventing gout and certain types of kidney stones.

Side Effect

The most common side effect of this medicine is stomach pain. It may also cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, frequent urge to urinate, and tiredness. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worsen, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms by reducing the dose or prescribing an alternative medicine.

Precaution 

• Alsone Syrup Sugar-Free should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before each use. Mix it in a glass of water or juice as advised by your doctor. Avoid taking Alsone Syrup Sugar-Free on an empty stomach if diarrhea occurs. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to avoid stomach upset.
• To make sure the medicine is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking. Also tell your doctor if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor first before taking this medicine.
