Angilock 50mg Tablet is a medication belonging to the class of angiotensin II receptor blockers, which is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of stroke in individuals with heart disease. Hypertension is a condition characterized by persistently elevated blood pressure in the arteries (above 140/90 mmHg). Heart failure is a chronic condition where the heart’s ability to pump blood efficiently is compromised.
The active ingredient in Angilock 50mg Tablet is Losartan, which works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. By doing so, it helps to lower blood pressure and improve overall blood flow. Additionally, it offers kidney protection in individuals with both kidney disease and diabetes.
Take Angilock 50mg Tablet once daily at the same time, regardless of food intake. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water and avoid crushing, chewing, or breaking it. The dosage will be determined by your doctor based on your medical condition. Some possible side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, low blood pressure, weakness, anemia, high potassium levels (hyperkalemia), changes in kidney function, orthostatic hypotension, or low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and tend to resolve over time. However, if they persist, consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Angilock 50mg Tablet or any other medications. It is important to complete the full course of medication and not abruptly stop taking Angilock 50mg Tablet, as it may cause recurring symptoms or worsen your condition. This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as children below six years of age. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Angilock 50mg Tablet, as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Additionally, avoid potassium supplements, as they can lead to high potassium levels in the blood when taken alongside Angilock 50mg Tablet.
