Azonox Ultra | Fungal infections
- Take with food, at the same time daily.
- Do not skip doses; complete the prescribed course.
- Avoid antacids within 2 hours of dosing.
- Report yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine, unexplained fatigue, swelling, or rapid weight gain.
- Avoid in pregnancy unless directed by a doctor; use reliable contraception during treatment.
- Maintain good hygiene to prevent reinfection.
Azonox Ultra is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections caused by fungi, including those of the mouth, throat, vagina, skin, fingernails, and toenails.
It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to the death of the fungus.
Oral capsules must be taken with food, preferably immediately after a full meal.
Adults:
- Oropharyngeal candidiasis: 100 mg/day × 15 days
- Vulvovaginal candidiasis: 200 mg twice daily × 1 day
- Pityriasis versicolor: 200 mg/day × 7 days
- Tinea corporis/cruris: 100 mg/day × 15 days
- Onychomycosis: 200 mg/day × 3 months
- Systemic infections: 100–200 mg/day; up to 200 mg twice daily in severe cases
- Prophylaxis in neutropenic/AIDS patients: 200 mg/day; up to 200 mg twice daily if required
Children: 5–10 mg/kg/day (max 200 mg/day). Safety not established in children <3 years.
