Bisoren Plus (Bisoprolol Fumarate 2.50mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 6.25mg) is prescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
Bisoren Plus contains a combination of Bisoprolol Fumarate (a β1-selective beta-blocker) and Hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic). Used together, they offer a stronger blood pressure-lowering effect than when used alone. Hydrochlorothiazide 6.25 mg enhances the antihypertensive effect of Bisoprolol, while also reducing the risk of low potassium levels compared to a higher dose of Hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg).
Bisoprolol selectively blocks β1-adrenergic receptors (mainly in the heart) without intrinsic sympathomimetic activity.
Hydrochlorothiazide increases sodium and chloride excretion by affecting electrolyte reabsorption in the kidneys.
