Cefaclav Tablet | Cefuroxime Axetil 125mg+ Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg is used to treat various types of bacterial infections, such as infection of the urinary tract, lower respiratory tract, and sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhoea.
Cefaclav Tablet is a prescription antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the urinary tract, respiratory system, and certain sexually transmitted infections. It contains two active ingredients: Cefuroxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, and Clavulanic Acid, which blocks bacterial enzymes that can resist antibiotic action—thereby enhancing the efficacy of cefuroxime.
This medicine is not recommended for individuals allergic to penicillins or any of its components. Cefaclav should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or after meals, to reduce stomach upset. It’s important to complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early. Discontinuing the medication prematurely without medical advice can lead to incomplete treatment and antibiotic resistance.
