Cefixime, the active ingredient in Ceftid QS, is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), resulting in bacterial death.
Ceftid QS Pediatric Drops are used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children, including:
- Pneumonia
- Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis
- Typhoid fever
- Acute and Chronic Bronchitis (including exacerbations)
- Sinusitis
- Otitis Media (ear infections)
- Soft tissue infections
- Gonococcal urethritis
- Other infections caused by susceptible bacteria
