Topically applied clindamycin penetrates deep into the skin, killing acne-causing bacteria by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunits of the bacteria, preventing peptide bond formation and thus stopping bacterial growth, which helps prevent acne outbreaks.
Clindax Lotion contains clindamycin, a topical antibiotic. It is used to treat acne vulgaris, a common skin condition in teenagers characterized by inflammation, large, red, pus-filled pimples, and the formation of comedones when hair follicles get clogged with oil and dead skin cells.
Clindamycin penetrates deeply into the skin and kills the bacteria that cause pimples by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It is intended for external use only. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as needed. Note that the topical application of clindamycin can also lead to systemic absorption, potentially causing diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, or colitis (including pseudomembranous colitis).
