Cogniz 500 is also used to manage cognitive dysfunction that occurs due to Alzheimer’s disease (a brain disease that affects memory and thinking skills) and other cerebrovascular diseases. It is also indicated for use in the acute and recovery phase of cerebral infarction (a condition that occurs due to poor blood supply to the brain) and Parkinson’s disease (an age-related degenerative brain condition) in affected individuals.
Cogniz 500 contains Citicoline, which belongs to a group of medicines called Psychostimulants. Cogniz 500 is used to manage cerebral insufficiency (such as dizziness, memory loss, poor circulation, disorientation) that occurs due to head trauma/brain injury in affected individuals.
Cogniz 500 is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Citicoline. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hypertonia (muscle overactivity).
Before taking Cogniz 500, inform your doctor if you are scheduled for any surgery, and/or have persistent intracranial haemorrhage, kidney/liver disease.
Cogniz 500 should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if necessary. It is also advised to be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) if necessary. The medicine is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
