Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino sugar found in cartilage that serves as a building block for the formation and repair of joint cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is another natural component of cartilage that promotes cartilage formation, reduces the activity of cartilage-degrading enzymes, improves joint lubrication, and helps maintain joint elasticity by retaining water within cartilage cells.
Glucosamine and chondroitin work together to support the regeneration and maintenance of connective tissues such as cartilage, tendons, bones, skin, blood vessels, and mucous membranes.
Undenatured Type-II Collagen is obtained from chicken sternum cartilage through a specialized low-temperature, non-enzymatic manufacturing process that preserves its natural triple-helix structure and biological activity. It contains biologically active sites known as epitopes that help trigger oral tolerization. These epitopes interact with Peyer’s patches in the small intestine, stimulating collagen-specific regulatory T-cells. These cells travel to joint tissues and help suppress immune responses that damage cartilage.
Additionally, Undenatured Type-II Collagen helps reduce the release of collagen-destroying enzymes and inflammatory cytokines, thereby decreasing inflammation, slowing cartilage breakdown, and supporting cartilage repair and rebuilding.
