- Bacterial vaginosis

Dequadin VT contains dequalinium chloride, an anti-infective and antiseptic agent that is effective against bacteria responsible for bacterial vaginosis. It is designed for vaginal use and works directly at the site of infection to help restore normal vaginal health.
Recommended Dosage
Adults
- Insert one vaginal tablet daily for 6 consecutive days.
Children and Adolescents
- There is insufficient clinical experience regarding the use of Dequadin VT in individuals under 18 years of age.
Women Over 55 Years
- Limited information is available on the use of this medicine in women older than 55 years.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Based on available experience, dequalinium chloride acts locally within the vagina and is not expected to harm the mother, unborn baby, or breastfed infant. However, it should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding when considered medically necessary by a healthcare professional.
How to Use Dequadin VT
For best results:
- Use the tablet every evening before bedtime.
- Wash your hands before opening the blister pack.
- Lie on your back with your knees slightly bent.
- Insert one tablet deeply into the vagina.
Important Administration Instructions
- Stop treatment during heavy menstrual bleeding and continue once the bleeding has ended.
- Complete the full 6-day treatment course, even if symptoms improve earlier.
- Stopping treatment too soon may cause the infection to return.
- Some tablet residue may appear in underwear because certain ingredients do not dissolve completely. This does not reduce the effectiveness of the medication.
- The tablet does not stain clothing, although a sanitary pad or panty liner may be used for comfort.
- If vaginal dryness prevents the tablet from dissolving properly, moisten it with a drop of water before insertion.
- Consult your doctor if you feel the medicine is working too strongly or not effectively enough.
Contraindications
Do not use Dequadin VT if:
- You are allergic to dequalinium chloride or any ingredient in the product.
- You have ulceration of the vaginal lining or cervix.
- You have not yet had your first menstrual period and have not reached sexual maturity.
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, Dequadin VT may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
Commonly Reported Effects

- Vaginal yeast infection (thrush)
These symptoms may temporarily worsen at the beginning of treatment before improvement occurs.

Precautions and Warnings
During treatment:

- To reduce exposure of a newborn to the medication, avoid using the tablet within 12 hours before delivery.
Overdose
Using more tablets than recommended or extending treatment beyond the prescribed duration may increase the risk of vaginal ulceration.
If you accidentally use too many tablets:
- Contact your doctor for advice.
- Do not use a double dose to compensate for a missed dose.
Remember that treatment shorter than 6 days may lead to recurrence of the infection.
