Clobetasol Propionate, the active ingredient in Dermacort 10 Cream, is indicated for the treatment of various dermatoses in adults, the elderly, and children over the age of one year. These conditions include:
- Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
- Recalcitrant dermatoses
- Lichen planus
- Discoid lupus erythematosus
- Other skin conditions that do not respond satisfactorily to less potent steroids
Dermacort 0.05% Topical Cream contains Clobetasol, a topical corticosteroid, used in adults and adolescents (aged 12 years or above) for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis that have not responded to milder steroid creams or ointments.
Conditions Treated:
- Psoriasis: An immune-mediated skin disease causing patches of thick red skin and silvery scales.
- Eczema (Dermatitis): Various types of skin swelling leading to dry, itchy skin and rashes.
Usage Guidelines:
- Dermacort 0.05% Topical Cream is not recommended for patients with other bacterial, fungal, or viral infections.
- Inform your doctor if you have a skin infection, diabetes, adrenal gland problem, scheduled surgery, acne, plaques in specific areas, or liver diseases before using.
- Use during pregnancy only if recommended by a doctor.
- Use with caution during breastfeeding.
- Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Common Side Effects:

- Widening of small veins in the skin
- Skin discomfort
- Dryness
