Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle by blocking calcium entry into cardiac and vascular wall cells, promoting better oxygen delivery and blood flow.
✅ Take daily at the same time
✅ Avoid abrupt discontinuation
✅ Raise legs if ankle swelling occurs
✅ Monitor blood pressure regularly
Emlon (Amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker used to effectively manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain caused by heart disease). It works by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing the heart’s workload — helping to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
You can take Emlon with or without food, ideally at the same time each day, as advised by your doctor. Continue taking it even if you feel well, since hypertension often has no symptoms.
Common side effects: fatigue, ankle swelling, dizziness, headache, flushing, nausea, and palpitations.
Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, or kidney issues, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid sudden posture changes to prevent dizziness.
