Empadus M 5/1000ER Tablet, Empagliflozin 5 mg + Metformin HCl ER 1000 mg
A dual-action therapy for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one. 

  • Monitor renal function regularly
  • Caution in elderly and volume-depleted patients
  • Discontinue before surgery or radiologic studies with contrast
  • Increased risk of genital infections, dehydration, DKA, and lactic acidosis

Empadus M 5/1000ER combines two complementary antidiabetic agents:

  • Empagliflozin – an SGLT2 inhibitor that enhances urinary glucose excretion
  • Metformin Hydrochloride (Extended Release) – a biguanide that reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity

This combination is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). It may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in patients with established cardiovascular disease.
