Ezygo is used for:
- Constipation of different causes
- Relief from chronic or recurrent constipation
- Bowel evacuation before surgery, delivery, or diagnostic procedures
For oral use only. It is generally recommended to take the medicine at night so bowel evacuation occurs the following morning. Treatment should begin with the lowest effective dose and be adjusted as needed without exceeding the maximum recommended dose.
Ezygo is a stimulant laxative indicated for the treatment of various forms of constipation, including prolonged and recurrent constipation. It is also used for bowel cleansing before surgery, childbirth, or radiological examinations.
Ezygo contains Sodium Picosulfate, a stimulant laxative belonging to the triarylmethane group. After oral administration, it is activated by bacteria in the colon and acts locally in the large intestine.
The active form stimulates nerve endings in the intestinal wall, increasing colonic peristalsis and promoting the accumulation of water and electrolytes in the bowel. This action softens stool, shortens bowel transit time, and stimulates bowel movements. It also enhances rectal motility and creates a sensation of rectal fullness, helping restore the natural urge to defecate.
