Fluphenazine Decanoate is used in the long-term management of psychotic disorders including, Schizophrenia, Mania, and Organic brain syndrome. It is not recommended for use in children and elderly patients with dementia.
- Fenazine 25mg Injection contains Fluphenazine, an antipsychotic drug.
- Used to manage chronic schizophrenia in patients requiring prolonged parenteral neuroleptic therapy.
- Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder with symptoms like hallucinations, abnormal thoughts, delusions, and disordered behavior.
Avoid use in the following conditions:
- Severe liver disorders.
- Subcortical brain damage.
- Severely depressed states/coma.
- Prolactin-dependent tumors (e.g., breast cancer, prolactinoma).
- Parkinson’s disease.
- Severe blood cell (leucopenia) or bone marrow damage.
- History of neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Common side effects: Dyskinesia (muscle weakness), Fatigue, and Noticeable flattening.
Inform your doctor if you have:Â
- Slow heartbeat issues.
- Pre-existing heart damage.
- Congenital/family history of prolonged QT interval.
- Coronary heart disease.
- Conduction disturbance and arrhythmia.
- Chronic respiratory disorders or asthma.
- Liver or kidney dysfunction.
- Adrenal tumor.
- Very low or high blood pressure.
- Low potassium levels.
- History of organic brain disorders.
- Epileptic seizures.
- Depression or reduced consciousness.
- Exposure to high temperature.
- Glaucoma.
- Enlarged prostate.
- Trouble passing urine.
- Narrowing of the opening from the stomach to the duodenum.
