Letroz Tablet is an anti-cancer medication classified as an aromatase inhibitor. It is used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Letroz works by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for producing estrogen. Since cancer cells need estrogen to grow, inhibiting this enzyme helps prevent cancer cell growth and spread, slowing down or stopping the progression of the tumor.. If the breast tumor is advanced or has spread, continue taking Letrozole until tumor progression. After tamoxifen or surgery, take Letrozole for 5 years or until the tumor recurs, whichever comes first. Alternatively, it can be used sequentially: 2 years of Letrozole followed by 3 years of tamoxifen.
