Description

Fungitac Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) and other superficial fungal skin infections in immunocompetent patients aged 12 years and above. It is effective against dermatophytes, including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum.  

Sertaconazole is an imidazole-class antifungal agent. It inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450–dependent enzyme 14-α-lanosterol demethylase, resulting in impaired synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Depletion of ergosterol disrupts membrane integrity, causing leakage of intracellular components and subsequent fungal cell death.
