Furoclav 500 Tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections like infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract, and sexually transmitted diseases.Â
Furoclav 500 is a combination of Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid, (500mg+125mg), which are antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitors respectively. It is used to treat various bacterial infections such as throat infections, ear infections, sinusitis, gonorrhea, Lyme disease, and more. Cefuroxime works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell covering, while Clavulanic acid reduces bacterial resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime.
Take Furoclav 500 Tablet with or without food as directed by your doctor. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the severity of the infection. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.
Before taking Furoclav 500 Tablet, inform your doctor about any history of colitis, liver problems, or kidney problems. Use with caution if you have a sensitivity to penicillin. Pregnant women should use Furoclav 500 Tablet with caution, and it is not recommended for breastfeeding women. It is not suitable for children under three months of age.
