Glipatab-M 500 is a combination of Empagliflozin and Metformin Hydrochloride used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Empagliflozin belongs to the sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class, while Metformin is a biguanide antidiabetic agent.
It is also prescribed to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease, although its exact effectiveness for this benefit has not been fully confirmed.
