D-Chiro-Inositol is obtained through a patented extraction process from Carob (Ceratonia siliqua) pods, primarily sourced from Southern Europe.
A deficiency of D-Chiro-Inositol in peripheral tissues contributes to insulin resistance, which subsequently leads to ovarian hyperandrogenism and the development of PCOS.
D-Chiro-Inositol:
- Restores insulin sensitivity and improves glucose tolerance
- Reduces circulating insulin levels
- Lowers luteinizing hormone (LH) and serum testosterone, helping to rebalance androgen–estrogen levels
- Decreases oxidative stress on ovarian follicles
- Reduces total cholesterol and triglyceride levels
- Improves ovulatory function, with clinical improvement often observed within two weeks of therapy
- Alleviates hyperandrogenism-related dermatological symptoms such as acne, hirsutism, alopecia, and acanthosis nigricans
- Helps reduce cardiovascular risk in women with PCOS by aiding blood pressure control
- Clinical studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in treating ovarian cysts, PCOS, and associated metabolic abnormalities.
